This is the first in an occasional series where we introduce you to the people that make Erie Ale Works..well, work. We’ll start with Mark Nardo, an Erie native that moved away for a decade spending time in Raleigh, North Carolina and Portland, Maine.

Erie Ale Works navigated the overwhelming brunt of the pandemic with the help of our local residents, so we asked ourselves how can we pay that back? Well, area nonprofits need post-pandemic help too so we wanted to do our best to ensure they have the funds to stick around to contribute back to our community.

We first brewed our German Pilsner way back in the late part of 2021, launching it without a proper name other than “German Pilsner”.

Some of you will remember opening day back in 2014. We had successfully brewed ONE beer and couldn't wait to release it through growler fills out of our borrowed draft box.

Well, here we are again. As COVID-19 rips through our community we have to adjust to accommodate updated mitigation efforts. Take a read through as we explain what we're up to, again.
